Meet Kaitlin.

Welcome to the Law Office of Kaitlin Files. I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and my firm for you to better know us. If you prefer to watch the video, check it out on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQidu4pasuc

I am a mix of Bucks County and Philly and so is my firm. Raised in Lower Bucks County, I went to St. Andrew’s grade school back when Goodnoe’s was still a restaurant and the only place to grab ice cream in Newtown. meet-kaitlin

I went to Villa Joe for high school and played at probably every soccer field and basketball gymnasium in the area. I know the Bucks County roads like the back of my hand, because I learned to drive on them before Waze was invented. I grew up on Disney and still love to visit Disney World with my nieces and nephews.

After I graduated from Villa Joe, I went to the University of Notre Dame for college- Go Irish! Initially studying to be a teacher, I switched directions and decided to head to law school. I spent the year between college and law school teaching middle school down in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was the most challenging and rewarding year of my life. I learned a lot about myself and the world around me. Those students will always hold a special place in my heart. And I give teachers a ton of credit- that is one tough job.

I came back to Philly to attend Temple for law school- Go Owls! I was raised on John Chaney and his basketball teams, so I was happy to come back home and cheer on the cherry and the white. While at Temple, I landed an internship at a workers’ compensation law firm and fell in love with that area of law. meet-kaitlin I learned how much I enjoyed using my legal skills to help people. Once I graduated law school, I accepted an associate’s position at the firm and worked there for six years.

While at Temple and the firm, I lived in various Philly neighborhoods over the years from Old City to South Philadelphia. I’ve walked all the old streets, driven all the narrow one-way roads, and used Septa to get to and from work, school, and the Sixers games. Like I know Bucks County, I also know Philadelphia. I’ve walked from South Street to South Philly to tailgate the Birds. I paraded down Broad Street during the Super Bowl LII run. meet-kaitlin Don’t try to tell me John’s Roast Pork isn’t the best place to get a cheesesteak. I’ve shopped the Italian Market and know the best place to eat is at Reading Terminal. If Bucks County shaped my childhood and adolescent years, Philadelphia certainly deserves the credit for molding who I became as an adult.

In the beginning on 2020, I had lived in Philly for almost a decade. While I will always love Philly and may move back one day, I knew it was time for me to get some space back in my hometown. I moved back to Lower Bucks in the beginning of February 2020. The timing could not have been more ideal. The Covid shutdown hit a month later and brought with it a mass layoff to the firm, a layoff I was included in. Luckily, I have good people in my life and was not without job offers for long. So, in the spring of 2020, I was faced with a decision: do I accept a job working for someone else or do I start my own law firm?

I took the leap to open my own practice and never looked back. The Law Office of Kaitlin Files LLC was established on June 10, 2020, and we have done nothing but grow since. I created my firm to breakdown negative preconceived notions about lawyers and law firms. My firm focuses on 3 fundamental operational values: 1) a work environment that is focused on teamwork and a positive, supportive, and rewarding experience for employees; 2) efficient and effective ways to represent injured workers in PA resulting in the best possible customer experience for our clients; 3) active involvement in the local community to support other business owners and the residents. I built my firm centered on these three ideals, and I show up every single day doing intentional work to make them happen. My firm focuses on helping workers in all of PA, but we are primarily based in Bucks and Philadelphia. I am so excited to establish my firm as an active member of these communities.

That is my story. This is my firm. I hope you’ll trust us to help you.
